Gravel Enduro

37 miles – 5,000 ft – 4 Stages

Welcome to Gravel Paradise

37-mile Gravel-Enduro

Gravel Road Race + Mountain Bike-Style Enduro in one loop of dreamy hard packed dirt roads and minimally maintained Vermont Class IV.  Finishing times aren’t based on overall loop time, but timed STRAVA segments (Enduro Stages - each roughly two-to-eight minutes).

Stages begin with signage communicating the approximate distance and end with another sign to let you know that you can relax and resume soaking up the scenery. Stages range from technical Class IV (variable rocks, roots and mud), to smooth packed dirt.

Don’t let the mileage fool you, 36 miles and around 5k of climbing make this an extraordinary Vermont bike event.

Note: We have made changes to the route from last year to incorporate more Class IV. See route below. Please join The Ranger club on STRAVA to be counted in the results.

18-Mile Fun Ride

This loop is available to those working their way up (no timed segments). Just over 2k of elevation gain. There will be one SAG stop available along this route.

This route provides the option to try out at least one section of Class IV or opt to stay on the hard packed dirt. We have made changes to last year’s route. See below for the course.

Women’s Supported Ride

Local Trek ambassador, Kim Coleman, will be leading a no-drop women’s supported ride along the 18 mile loop. Sign up for this specific category through our registration page on Bikereg.

Junior Ranger

Last year kicked off our Junior Ranger kids program in support of inspiring future generations to see the fun in the noncompetitive side of riding a bike.

We’d like to be thoughtful in stewarding the future of the sport, and that begins with our youth.

If you’re a parent planning on riding and need some help with the kiddos, you can sign them up at no cost to hang out with our Ranger chaperones.

They’ll need enough skill on a bike to make it through our 2.5 or 5 mile route options (mostly flat landscape). Parents are also welcome to join.

Beginning at 11:30 am is our Party In The Pasture, where we will have Cow Pie Bingo, The Nearly Famous Ford Falcon photo booth with costumes and other fun kid-friendly activities.

SAG Stops

How about a party in the barn with our friends at Outdoor Gear Exchange and Take Stock Farm?! Well, that’s exactly what we have planned. We’ve heard rumblings of music, maple syrup shots and bacon. Stay tuned for details.

We’ll have two separate SAG stops. Two for the full ride (one for each half) and one for the 18 mile loop. Bars, fruit, water and other fun treats will be on hand.

Todd at Cowbell Mobile Bike Shop will be on hand to offer mechanical needs before, during and after the event. Todd has been tremendously supportive the last two years and we are extremely lucky to have him. We also have on-course safety support from an off-road motorcycle group and the Tunbridge medical team.

What’s Included

One free beer from Brocklebank Craft Brewing/Upper Pass Beer Company or a non alcoholic kombucha.

Custom swag and live music.

Slice from the Ugly Onion Pizza wood fired oven or Tacos from Trail Break.

Once your free food and drink coupon (your bib) has been used, you are free to eat and drink (responsibly) to your heart’s content.

Families and nonparticipants are welcome to join this part of the event beginning at 11:30 am at no charge, festival style. Other vendors will have ice-cream, local made treats and more. Although some vendors will have the ability to accept credit card, service can be spotty, so please come prepared with cash.

Please subscribe to our email list and follow along on social media for updates. For full details please see Party In The Pasture.

To cut down on morning congestion, please register online. Day-of registration will be available (cash only), but you will not be guaranteed swag unless you register online by May 1st.

Note: We tend to order extra swag, so chances are you will be fine, but secure your chances by registering online!

Thank you to everyone who gave us helpful feedback and for being so patient with us last year. Each year we are learning and we look forward to partnering with our amazing volunteers to bring you a more efficient registration system this coming summer!

This is a FUNraiser for the Alliance for Vermont Communities, Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports and Little Bellas. Visit our Purpose page to learn more about who and what we support.

You don’t have to be on a bike to come out for the post-ride fun beginning at 11:30am - simply show up to support our partners and have some fun!
